Building Cadet Opportunity

We are seeking a Building Cadet to gain hands-on experience in various areas, including site management, quality control, information management, health and safety, and more. This role is designed for enthusiastic individuals ready to learn and take on new challenges.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals and have opportunities for growth and development. They will be expected to demonstrate commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork while contributing positively to the work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate onsite activities, from preliminary work to client handover.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and senior management.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to WHS requirements on-site.
  • Manage contractors, deliveries, and tasks to ensure safety and productivity.
  • Assist in managing labourers/traffic controllers to ensure compliance with quality systems.
  • Ensure all required site inspections are carried out, documented, reviewed, and signed off.
  • Implement and adhere to quality control procedures.
  • Oversee labour force activities and workflow practices to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Work closely with and report to the Site Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with construction industry software and systems (desirable).
  • Knowledge of contract administration and residential construction processes (desirable).
