Lead Lived Experience Specialist

This is a key leadership role that requires personal lived/living experience of mental health challenges and/or situational distress and journey of wellbeing/healing. The successful candidate will intentionally use these learnings to purposefully support others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Embedding Lived Experience Principles
    • Develop, implement, and monitor systems, processes, and activities that centre lived experience within the Mental Health and Wellbeing program.
    • Spearhead the implementation and monitoring of strategies and frameworks to ensure lived experience thrives in the wider work.
  • Lived Experience Leadership
    • Oversee the design and coordination of Lived Experience participation initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the Peer cadet lead to provide mentorship as part of the Peer cadet program.
  • Supporting Others
    • Use personal lived/living experience to inform practice and support colleagues in their roles.
    • Contribute to a culture of learning, growth, and development within the team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lived experience principles and be able to apply this knowledge in a leadership capacity. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Personal lived/living experience of mental health challenges and/or situational distress and journey of wellbeing/healing.
  • Ability to intentionally use personal experiences to support others.
  • Strong understanding of lived experience principles and their application in a leadership context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
