Job Description:

As a Grounds and Maintenance Professional, you will be responsible for maintaining the vibrancy of gardens, lush lawns, and top-quality sports ovals, creating a welcoming environment for all.

This is a part-time position working 25 hours per week. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining playing surfaces, including setting up greens, top dressing, fertilising under supervision, seeding, turfing, coring, and sprigging;
  • Preparing ovals for sporting events and carnivals;
  • Safely operating and maintaining small machinery and plant, considering the risk to self and others;
  • Equipment and plant maintenance repairs, including carrying out tasks allotted under the grounds and gardens maintenance plan;
  • Ordering and purchasing materials for maintenance tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience, including:

  • Knowledge of maintaining playing surfaces, including fertilising, seeding, and turfing;
  • Ability to prepare ovals for sporting events and carnivals;
  • Skilled in safely operating and maintaining small machinery, ensuring safety for all;
  • Experience in equipment and plant maintenance, following the grounds maintenance plan;
  • Ability to order and purchase materials for maintenance tasks;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level or completion of an apprenticeship.
