Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd is offering a highly challenging and rewarding role as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect in its rapidly expanding cloud infrastructure division.

About the Role

This position will play a key part in designing, deploying and automating network delivery while maintaining the highest reliability for our customers.

You will be responsible for leading the design, deployment and scaling of our global network infrastructure across multiple AWS regions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments and multiple AWS services
  • Designing, deploying and scaling our network across multiple global data centers (including existing and new locations)
  • Creating and automating deployment processes that increase quality and velocity
  • Collaborating with our internal customers on designs/solutions and bringing them from concept to production
  • Developing and updating our network standards and ensuring that the network is deployed to these standards
  • Creating and implementing changes on the live network
  • Working closely with our software teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume
  • Creating and reviewing documentation regarding new standard operating procedures and process improvement
  • Working with data sets related to DC and networking infrastructure, network utilisation, traffic demands and forecasts
  • Developing metrics related to health, availability and cost of the network in AWS regions
  • Determining what the best network topologies and designs are to minimize cost and latency while ensuring high availability, security and performance, using simulation and optimization tools
  • Automating all aspects of extending and scaling our networks, including planning
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 2+ years of major internet routing protocols experience (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ISIS)
  • 1+ years of automation scripting e.g. Python, Bash, Shell or Perl

Prior experience with simulating and modeling network traffic demands/forecasts along with network failure modeling and resiliency planning is highly desirable.
