About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Lawyer with 5-8 years of experience in Government procurement or projects, contract law, procurement, or commercial arrangements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Defence or related national security contexts, with experience in commercial and contracts law, probity, evaluations, approach-to-market development and tendering, negotiations, and procurement and contract management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver nationally significant and high-profile projects for the defence of Australia in the growing maritime, air, land, space, and joint domains.
  • Advise on procurement, commercial law, and contracting issues, including procurement options, policy, and planning, tender and scope development, contract drafting, collaborative contracting models, negotiation strategy setting and delivery, and contract delivery and management.
  • Take a leading role in the day-to-day management and administration of a team of junior personnel and contribute to client relationships and outcomes.
Requirements
  • 5-8 years of experience as a commercial lawyer.
  • Experience preparing and submitting tenders.
  • Australian Security Clearance.
