Job Opportunity: Retail Shop Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our retail team in East Victoria Park. As a Volunteer Retail Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the work of improving the lives of children in WA and around Australia.

The primary responsibilities of this position involve:

  • Sales Processing: Handling cash and eftpos transactions with accuracy and efficiency
  • Donation Management: Sorting and categorizing donations to ensure they are sold effectively
  • Quality Control: Inspecting products for quality and presentation
  • Clothing Preparation: Steaming clothing to present it in an attractive manner
  • Pricing and Display: Pricing, hanging, and displaying stock to maximize sales
  • Inventory Management: Filling shop displays from excess inventory in the backroom
  • Customer Service: Greeting and assisting customers with a smile
  • Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and organized store environment
  • Returns and Refunds: Organizing returns to be sent back to the warehouse
  • Stockroom Organization: Ensuring the backroom is tidy and well-organized
  • Opening and Closing Procedures: Completing opening and closing tasks efficiently

This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the behind-the-scenes processes involved in running our charity's op shops.
