Seeking a visionary minister to help realize our community's mission of spreading the message of Jesus in Wollongong and Corrimal.

About this role

The Assistant Minister will be responsible for embracing our community's vision, working collaboratively with staff and members, participating in prayer and planning meetings, and engaging in regular teaching and preaching.

  • Embracing the vision of our community
  • Working cohesively with staff and church family
  • Participation in staff prayer and planning meetings
  • Pastoring 2 congregations, including regular teaching and preaching
  • Training student and apprentice ministers as necessary
  • Assisting in identifying and developing new leaders
  • The primary contact for funerals, weddings, baptisms, and thanksgivings
  • Oversight of portfolio ministry across the parish (pastoral care and/or equipping)
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep, living faith in Jesus as personal Savior and Lord
  • An exemplary and growing Christian character that imitates and models Christ
  • Giftedness and passion in disciple-making; teaching ability and experience in cross-cultural ministry; capacity to lead teams, equip, and recruit leadership
  • Recognized theological training (Adv Dip. Th. or higher)
  • Ordained as either a Deacon or Presbyter
