About This Role

As a strategic Merchandise Planner, you will play a key role in maximizing sales and profit through effective financial planning and execution. Your focus will be on creating and driving a strategic financial plan that aligns with the company's objectives.

  • Create and drive a strategic financial plan that aligns with the company's objectives.
  • Analyze and present information to management, summarizing key strategic initiatives, growths & declines, risks & opportunities.
  • Ensure strategically aligned merchandise planning activities by developing a planning strategy, objectives, and performance management measures focused on achieving sales targets, gross profit, and effective stock turns / GMROI.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strategic financial plan that drives business growth and profitability.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and present findings to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of merchandise planning activities with business objectives.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' proven experience in a retail Merchandise Planning or Commercial Analyst role within Supply Chain or Manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Be commercially astute with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • High level of Excel skills and capability.
