At Industrial Light & Magic, we are seeking an experienced Character Simulation Expert to join our team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in character and creature simulation, pipeline management, and mentoring junior talent.

About the Role

This position involves creating high-quality character and creature simulations using advanced techniques and tools. The successful candidate will have expertise in rigging and deformation, as well as experience with cloth, hair, rigid body, and muscle simulations.

We are looking for someone who can comprehend and execute direction from senior leaders, while also mentoring junior TDs and providing day-to-day guidance and support. Strong time management and people management skills are essential for this role, as you will need to balance multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in computer graphics or a related field, preferably with a degree in fine arts, design, or photography.
  • High proficiency in body/facial rigging, anatomy, and muscle dynamics, as well as aesthetics of body/face deformations.
  • Experience with cloth/hair/flesh/rigid body simulations and troubleshooting pipeline issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and junior team members.
