Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement effective cyber security measures to safeguard the organisation's critical assets, data and systems.
  • Provide expert advice and support to identify vulnerable processes with systems for remediation or elimination of security risks reducing vulnerability exposure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the agency and externally to align with leading security frameworks.
  • Develop business continuity/disaster recovery plans and participate in DR and BCP table top exercises.
  • Cyber assessments and reviews of digital initiatives prior to implementation to drive compliance.
  • Design, manage and integrate technical security controls for SMTP gateways, firewalls and various defence systems.
  • Create processes and procedures to ensure improved organisational understanding, engagement and compliance with cyber requirements.
  • Develop effective reporting and alerting to aid the business in responding to threats, understand the pipeline of projects and risks associated with them.
About You:
  • A highly skilled professional with extensive experience in a technical systems administrator or cyber engineering role.
  • Expertise in identifying processes and technology risks impacting the cyber security posture.
  • Experience with penetration testing, security assessments and advanced persistent threats (APT).
  • Collating and documenting secure system design in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing technologies from leading security vendors.
  • Intrusion detection / prevention and incident response.
  • Implementing logging, alerting and RBAC protocols for auditing and reporting.
  • Change control and working within an ITIL framework.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. They will also have a strong understanding of cyber security principles, including risk management and threat analysis.
