Health and Safety Advisor Wanted for Water Pipeline Project

McConnell Dowell Constructors is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join the Health and Safety team on a 117-kilometre water pipeline project.

About the Role

This project involves the construction of a water pipeline, intake pump station, intermediate pump stations, reservoirs, and a water treatment plant.

The successful candidate will work on a 15/6 roster with site uplift applicable.

Responsibilities
  • Report on health and safety matters to the Health and Safety Manager and Construction Manager
  • Liaise with and advise construction personnel in regard to mitigation and management of risks and hazards
  • Complete health and safety investigations and develop reports on all incident investigations
  • Review site risk registers and support Construction Risk Assessment Workshops
  • Provide ongoing health and safety advice to Supervisors, Contractors, and site workers
  • Assist in reporting, investigating, and implementing corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of hazards, near miss incidents, and work-related illness/injury
  • Work to achieve the project health and safety targets and build a strong health and safety culture
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in Health and Safety
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety
  • Experience within the Construction/Engineering sectors
  • Strong and clear communication skills, written and verbal
  • Advocate for a strong safety culture
