School psychologists play a vital role in shaping the educational landscape. As a member of our team, you will work in primary and high schools to provide counseling and psychological assessments that strengthen student learning outcomes and support families in understanding and managing their children's learning and mental health needs.
This is a collaborative role with opportunities for professional growth and making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver counseling and psychological services to students individually and in groups, including short-term therapeutic interventions.
- Implement the procedures of the Professional Practice Framework for school counseling services.
- Work closely with school executives, staff, and student support services to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
- Contribute to the social, emotional, and academic development of students and provide support for schools with complex behavioral needs.
- Administer cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral assessments of students and report on the results.
Essential Requirements
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy.
- General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance.
- A current driver's license and ability to travel between work sites.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
Benefits
- Total Remuneration Package valued up to $177,146 + incentives (where applicable).
- Rural and remote incentives of between $20,000 and $30,000 per annum for eligible positions.
