Job Title: Project Leader

We are seeking an experienced Project Leader to join our team in the South Burnett region. As a key member of our infrastructure delivery team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, budgeting, and management of civil projects.

About the Role:
  • This is a permanent position within a supportive Local Government team.
  • You will oversee project scoping, timelines, budgets, and site supervision to ensure compliance with safety standards and deadlines.
  • You will prepare and manage contracts and tenders, assess submissions, and lead pre-start meetings.
  • You will monitor site works, resolve on-ground issues, and maintain quality control.
  • You will engage with internal teams, service providers, and the public to inform and address concerns.
  • You will track project progress, budgets, and risks through clear reporting and compile handover documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and team coordination skills, managing contractors, consultants, and internal teams to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes.

Requirements:
  • A qualification in project management or relevant career experience in similar roles.
  • End-to-end project management experience delivering civil works.
  • Strong contract and procurement knowledge, including tender documents and assessment.
  • Highly developed communication skills for engaging with stakeholders, community members, and technical teams.
  • Sound technical and reporting skills, with attention to detail across cost estimating, risk registers, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of safety, compliance, and construction standards within Local Government or regulated environments.
