We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at the University of Southern Queensland. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will be part of a dynamic research program focused on developing integrated models of care for sexuality and gender diverse people and individuals with innate variations of sex characteristics.
About the RoleThis part-time, fixed-term appointment will see you working on Work Package 1, which involves integrating and evaluating resourced clinical and community psychosocial support. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Producing high-quality research outputs that contribute to the development of evidence-based models of care.
- Overseeing higher degree research supervision and completions.
- Engaging in externally funded research projects and/or securing external research funding.
- Developing external relationships with academics, community representatives, and industry partners.
- Participating in impactful engagement and service activities linked to the research project.
The Research Project aims to conduct a robust psychosocial service evaluation, resulting in an evidence-based and reproducible model of care for individuals with IVSCs. This important research will:
- Improve the quality and accessibility of affirmative physical health, mental health, and wellbeing services for the IVSC community.
- Enhance peer-led and clinical psychosocial services to meet community expectations.
- Provide evidence to support informed decision-making in clinical and peer-led settings.
- Establish mechanisms to improve self-knowledge, service continuation, community engagement, and improved agency in health-seeking behaviour across the lifespan.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Professional experience and/or research expertise in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in publishing impactful research that advances understanding of marginalised/vulnerable populations or delivery of targeted services or psychosocial interventions.
- High-level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build constructive and effective relationships.
