About the RoleWe are looking for a talented individual with strong technical expertise in process control applications, including PLC programming, SCADA configuration, and field instrument selection. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, optimising control systems, and ensuring smooth business continuity.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in process control applications and hold a relevant trade background or tertiary qualification in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or automation/process control.
Responsibilities- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support for fault diagnostics, breakdown assistance, corrective actions, and troubleshooting plant control functions.
- Control Philosophy Development: Develop, document, and maintain plant control philosophies, functional descriptions, and start-up sequences.
- Change Management: Oversee the change process for plant control system modifications, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance process control efficiency.
- Business Continuity: Maintain and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans while supporting cross-department collaboration on project needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyse performance data, downtime records, and incidents to drive continuous improvement, while upholding system documentation and procedures.
- Relevant Qualifications: Relevant trade background or tertiary qualification in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or automation/process control.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in process control applications, including PLC programming, SCADA configuration, field instrument selection, and commissioning.
- Skills: Strong documentation, time management, and working knowledge of electrical standards and codes.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal, SIMATIC S7), Citect SCADA, and Profinet communications protocol.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with servers, networking equipment, fibre optics, telemetry, and HV and LV ABB variable speed drives in process industries.
- Leadership: Proven ability to build strong interdepartmental relationships, establish credibility as a trusted advisor, and promote a safe working culture.
- Competitive Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum (depending on experience).
- Roster: 8:6 site-based by 4:3 CBD/WFH (revolving).
- Career Growth: Opportunity for long-term career growth.
- Contract Type: Initial contract option, permanent preferred.
