Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist (Microbiologist) to join our team at the Queensland Government. As a key member of our Biosecurity team, you will play a critical role in protecting and enhancing Animal Biosecurity in Queensland.

About the Role

As our Scientist (Microbiologist), you will be responsible for providing diagnostic microbiological services that support the prevention, response, and recovery from biosecurity concerns that threaten our environment and economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality diagnostic results, ensuring all tasks are undertaken efficiently while adhering to NATA ISO:17025 requirements.
• Plan, conduct, and prioritize diagnostic testing, in line with team commitments and the requirements of the Senior Scientist, Veterinary Pathologists, and Laboratory Manager.
• Contribute as a member of a high-performing team, working collaboratively to achieve our biosecurity goals.
