About the Role

V/Line is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating data models, reports, and dashboards for Payroll and the broader Finance team.

Key Accountabilities
  • Engage with various stakeholders to gather and prioritize business requirements
  • Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and data models that transform data into valuable business insights
  • Perform data analysis to present insights through powerful and interactive dashboards
  • Secure access to Power BI reports and dashboards, limiting access to confidential information to authorized users
  • Ensure the successful delivery of new enhancements or complex/urgent defects to minimize errors impacting the business
  • Develop proof of concepts that add value to the business by showcasing Power BI functionalities
  • Mentor Power Users and other business users in data model, report, and dashboard development and deployment
  • Collaborate with Power Users to perform data extraction/transformation, creating the required data set for the dashboard
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Power BI Developer, with expertise in data modeling, dashboards, and report development
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) groups/policies and support for row-level/column-level security measures in Power BI
  • Established experience with prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis
  • Proven experience in Power BI administration, including setting up connections of multiple types, gateway configuration, and monitoring
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in AWS data services and complex SQL scripting skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT (desirable)
