Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Sydney Airport. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for planning and directing food preparation in our kitchen.

Your primary focus will be on supervising other kitchen staff and addressing operational issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large multi-function high-end venues and experience producing consistent, high-quality culinary items.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure your area is properly organized, staffed, and directed.
  • Order required food and equipment daily to satisfy the production plan.
  • Provide decisive leadership and on-the-job training to lower-level staff members.
  • Execute and supervise food production, packing & tray-set activities.
  • Prepare complex meals or dishes to specifications provided.
  • Monitor and ensure KPI compliance across the business, including recipe specifications.
  • Monitor and control labor, food costs, and shrinkage to budget.
  • Participate in the development of food products and menus as needed for customer menu presentations.
