Job Description

This role involves providing personal care and domestic assistance to individuals with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, intellectual disabilities, or autism. You will work collaboratively with our care teams to develop and implement individualised plans that promote independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care and assistance with daily living tasks, including showering, dressing, and mobility support
  • Assisting with domestic duties, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry
  • Supporting clients with BOC (behaviours of concern) and developing strategies to manage challenging behaviours
  • Building strong relationships with clients and their families, promoting a sense of trust and respect
  • Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and allied health therapists
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a similar support worker capacity

a strong understanding of person-centred care principles and practicesexcellent communication and interpersonal skillsthe ability to work independently and as part of a teama willingness to learn and adapt to changing situationsa current full drivers licence and comfortable driving clients' vehicles
