Asphalt Supervisor Job Description

Our business is seeking a highly skilled Asphalt Supervisor to join our Infrastructure Services team. This role will oversee the crew and ensure that all work outputs meet client expectations, are well planned, and highly productive.

The ideal candidate will have intermediate experience supervising asphalt crews or have worked as a Line Supervisor in the past. They will need to be able to understand what is required, set the direction, and communicate the plan day-to-day to the crew, with a strong commitment to Safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure crew work outputs exceed client expectations, are well planned, and highly productive.
  • Liaise with contracting, sales staff, and clients to plan programmed works in advance.
  • Plan for proposed works on a job-by-job basis, ensuring safety, traffic control, quality assurance, testing, milling, line-marking, and mobile equipment needs are understood by all crew team members and sub-contractors.
  • Supervise a crew and site to ensure key responsibilities are met.
  • Report and monitor workplace hazards, risks, issues, and incidents.
  • Contribute to development of Safe Working Methods Statements (SWMS), attend toolbox and daily prestart meetings as required.
Requirements:
  • Intermediate experience supervising asphalt crews or having worked as a Line Supervisor in the past.
  • An ability to understand what is required, set the direction, and communicate the plan day-to-day to the crew, with a strong commitment to Safety.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and drive to build, create, and produce outputs to high standards.
  • Be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and be able to influence a team.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to read basic contract terms, standard industry specifications, and quality system's needs.
  • Valid Drivers' Licence.
