We are seeking a highly skilled Governance Administration Officer to join our team at MacDonnell Regional Council. As a key member of our governance team, you will provide secretariat and administrative support to Local Authority and Council meetings, ensuring compliance with NT Local Government Act and Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to Local Authority and Council meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and other documentation.
- Assist in community engagement activities with Local Authority members and Councillors, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
- Review and develop governance processes, ensuring they are aligned with Council's strategic objectives and NT Local Government Act.
- Develop visual information sheets and governance operational manuals, enhancing Council's governance framework.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in an administration environment or government role, with a strong understanding of governance principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow predetermined procedures and make independent judgements when required.
- A deep understanding of cultural impacts and sensitivities, with a commitment to promoting Aboriginal culture and community engagement.
