A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Material Management Officer to join their team.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring material codification and cataloguing standards are met, working closely with Supply Chain and Engineering teams.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders across departments.
  • Collaborates on material requirements and inventory control strategies.
  • Implements and maintains codification and cataloguing policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Codifies and updates material catalogue entries, analysing data to inform decision-making.
  • Liaises with suppliers and internal requestors to obtain technical data and specifications.
  • Applies inventory control methods to optimise stock levels, reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Supports obsolescence management through surveillance coordination and replacement part assessments.
Key Responsibilities

Develops and executes stocktaking plans, updating catalogue data and analysing material usage and procurement trends.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years experience in Marine Support, Engineering or Defence organisations.

Experience in computerised ERP environments and asset management systems.

Strong understanding of codification and cataloguing principles, as well as inventory control methods.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
