Job Title: Pipelayer

Pipelayers play a critical role in the construction of infrastructure projects. As a pipelayer, you will be responsible for laying pipelines to transport gas, water and sewage across various terrain types.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret construction site plans, completing delegated tasks in accordance with safe work method statements and environmental standards to the required quality and client satisfaction.
  • Undertake trenching, drilling and installation of pipeline as requested by the project manager.
  • Operate plant items to construct works as directed by the project manager.
  • Install mains gas and services including gas appliances, pressure regulation systems, backflow meters and piping systems.
  • Install underground drainage systems and aboveground support systems.
  • Install effluent pumping systems.
  • Install gas appliances and instant hot water systems in consultation with clients and project managers.
  • Establish safe and compliant soil and wastage materials storage as per HSEQ standards.
  • Assist site supervisors by completing delegated work efficiently and at optimal cost.
  • Complete delegated tasks in accordance with safe work method statements and environmental standards to the required quality and client satisfaction.
  • Understand and work in accordance with safe work method statements and environmental work method statements.
  • Comply with site rules including PPE requirements.
  • Participate in preliminary safety and environmental risk assessments.
  • Participate in daily site risk assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all permits are completed and controls are in place before commencing works.
  • Report incidents to site supervisors and assist in incident reports.
  • Complete daily and quarterly plant inspections and checklists.
  • Report damage and/or maintenance requirements to site supervisors.
  • Assist site supervisors to determine effective methodologies, plant and equipment.
  • Ensure works are constructed correctly the first time in line with technical requirements.
  • Work with general public and adhere to safe work method statements and health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Assist site supervisors to ensure quality of work, health and safety of staff under control, environmental compliance, client and stakeholder satisfaction while carrying out work.
  • Collect and return delivery docket and hire records for all materials and services provided to site.
  • Establish and maintain positive productive client relationships to assist in project delivery and maximise opportunity of repeat business.
