About the Position
The school is seeking an Access & Inclusion Teacher to join our team.
This role plays a vital part in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they are empowered to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
The Access & Inclusion Teacher will work closely with classroom teachers, Learning Assistants, school psychologists, and families to develop and deliver tailored learning programs, case-manage students with specific needs, and support inclusive pedagogy across the school.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to building an inclusive curriculum and fostering a strong sense of belonging for all students.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, EAL/D, or high abilities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Learning Plans/Profiles in collaboration with teachers, students, families, and external specialists.
- Mentor and coach classroom teachers and Learning Assistants to deliver evidence-based interventions and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Support the collection of evidence for NCCD data and participate in moderation processes.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with parents, teachers, and external professionals regarding student learning and wellbeing.
- Lead professional learning opportunities for staff to enhance inclusive practices.
- Promote and model the School's Learning Principles, Learning Partnership Understanding, and Quaker ethos.
- Maintain confidential and sensitive documentation and communications related to students with diverse learning needs.
- Understanding of the 10 National Child Safe Standards which protect children and young people from abuse and neglect.
- Fully qualified teacher, registered or eligible for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional experience in Access & Inclusion, learning support, or special education.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver inclusive and engaging learning programs tailored to student needs.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary pedagogical practices.
- Experience using ICT and learning management systems to enhance teaching and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
- Commitment to professional learning, co-curricular involvement, and pastoral care responsibilities.
