Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Project Director to oversee the efficient and effective operation of drilling projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring financial reporting and capital management, as well as supervising all personnel and maintaining good relationships with clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and developing organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies.
  • Managing projects in accordance with approved company programs, HSEQ policies, standards and systems to fully meet project objectives and targets.
  • Providing instructions to the drilling crews and third party service contractors with respect to scope of work.
  • Ensuring company personnel are aware of their duties and that all required personnel, materials and equipment are at the rig and checked ready for the job.
  • Ensuring all regulations pertaining to the work are adhered to by all parties.
  • Recruiting, selecting and developing team members.
  • Managing the work in conjunction with other company personnel.
  • Maintaining a constant awareness of bore conditions and operating constraints that affect operational safety.
  • Discussing any deviations to the drilling program when and as required, to protect personnel, environment, equipment and the well.
  • Providing a working environment, which promotes understanding of the drilling discipline in the training of company personnel.
  • Auditing the work performed by the drilling crew and third party service contractors ensure it is performed according to terms of contracts and agreements.
  • Striving to achieve reduced costs and improve operational capabilities through technological advances where opportunities allow.
  • Ensuring all routine drilling and cost control reports required by the client, company and regulatory bodies are completed to a professional standard.
  • Managing and compiling reporting and analysis to support development and change throughout the organization at a production level.
