As a skilled Horticulturist, you will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of Council's parks, gardens, and other landscaped areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain gardens including annuals, native and non-native species, high-profile areas, traffic facilities and other landscaped areas in accordance with service requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for mulching, watering, maintenance, embellishment and improvement and implement as required.
  • Develop on-the-job skills and training for staff.
  • Conduct risk and hazard assessments of all areas under the crew's control and take corrective action where necessary.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Horticulture or a similar field.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in gardens maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and skills in horticulture, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will work independently and as part of a team to achieve project objectives and provide high-quality results.
