The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our Fixed Plant team at Port Maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems, as well as leading and developing a team of electrical maintenance technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with BHP policies and procedures, as well as relevant WHS and statutory obligations.
- Responsible for the upkeep and compliance of the electrical area log book, including bridging and overriding procedures.
- As an Appointed Person, ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations.
- Responsible for electrical plant health and development of long-term reliability of fixed plant.
- Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance to the Safety Management Plans during shutdowns, specifically targeting material risk control and technical ability.
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to validate and evaluate scope, including preparation requirements, isolation requirements, and maintenance activities.
- Communicate and engage with all relevant stakeholders.
- Operate within an established maintenance management system, promoting a high level of team interaction and coordination.
- Monitor and measure standards of work and performance of team members.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Current Western Australian Electrical Licence.
- S26 Electrical statutory appointment, experience, or ability to obtain.
- Current unrestricted Drivers Licence.
- Strong leadership experience in leading and developing teams.
- Excellent knowledge of plant and equipment.
- Highly developed analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Safety focus with the ability to identify and implement safe work practices.
- Ability to follow plans clearly and concisely within a maintenance environment, demonstrating a sound knowledge of maintenance practices.
