Role Overview
The Australian Investment Accounting (AIA) division offers valuation, accounting, and administrative services to Australian superannuation and Global Fund Services investment manager clients. The AIA department is responsible for delivering fund accounting, net asset valuations, fund administration, and comprehensive reporting services to our clients.
This position is integral to the AIA team based in Melbourne. You will oversee the Unit Pricing and Unit Registry functions for all AIA clients. The Unit Pricing tasks are performed in Bangalore and Manila, with the Melbourne office responsible for final approvals and serving as the primary contact for clients. Collaboration with AIA teams across all three locations is essential, along with maintaining strong relationships with external clients. Additionally, you will manage the hard close and month-end processes.
You will report directly to the Team Leader, Fund Accounting.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure timely and precise reporting to AIA clients.
• Contribute to process enhancements aimed at improving operational efficiency, while directly liaising with clients and supporting the team manager in optimizing operations.
• Execute the Hard Close and month-end processes in Melbourne, focusing on streamlining these operations.
• Maintain professional communication with Internal Departments, as well as teams in Chicago, Manila, and Bangalore regarding Unit Pricing and Unit Registry, Auditors, and other internal stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal departments and external entities.
• Identify, document, and disseminate new procedures and controls.
• Manage complex activities that have significant financial, client, and/or internal business implications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Previous experience in unit pricing; strong technical knowledge in this area along with a broader understanding of related fields.
• Ability to perform under pressure to meet multiple daily deadlines for client deliverables.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in numerical and computer skills, including spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, demonstrating a capacity for innovation.
