This pivotal role is designed to enhance the operational integrity of our instrumentation, controls, and electrical (IC&E) systems. You will be part of a dynamic team, ensuring the seamless functionality of our engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert technical guidance for IC&E systems.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with IC&E equipment, implementing effective rectification strategies.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to maintenance strategies, providing technical evaluations for updates to Reliability Management Plans (RMPs).
  • Engage in thorough investigations of failures, conducting root cause analyses, technical audits, and compliance evaluations.
  • Champion engineering excellence and governance, ensuring the effectiveness of safety barriers and performance standards.
  • Maintain adherence to cybersecurity protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and graduate engineers.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and will be eligible for RPEQ (e.g., Chartered Engineer). Additionally, you should possess:
  • Significant experience in IC&E engineering within operational support roles in the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors, with a preference for experience in major hazard facilities (MHF).
  • A comprehensive understanding of the technical standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Proficiency in integrated control and safety systems, alongside knowledge of operational technology cybersecurity.
  • Expertise in the design verification of process instrumentation, actuated controls, and valves.
  • Strong background in electrical power generation and distribution engineering.

Moreover, the following technical competencies are essential:

  • Proficient use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), preferably SAP.
  • Competence in Hazardous Area / EEHA regulations.
  • Knowledge in Functional Safety, SIL, LOPA, and Bowtie methodologies.

Certifications in Functional Safety Engineering and Hazardous Area qualifications will be considered advantageous.
