Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Legal Counsel for Australia, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, taking on responsibilities including:

  • Franchise Compliance: oversee franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and compliance registers
  • Commercial Contracting: draft, negotiate, and review supplier agreements, sponsorship deals, leases, and more
  • Governance & Risk: advise on risk, privacy, and legislative changes; participate in internal committees as required
  • Board Reporting: prepare clear and concise legal updates for board and leadership review
  • External Counsel: manage relationships and instructions to external legal advisors
  • Leadership: guide and support a Legal & Events Administrator

Requirements

This role is suited to a commercially minded, confident communicator with:

  • 5+ years' PAE, ideally with heavy franchising exposure
  • Experience in franchise law, including preparing disclosure documents and managing franchisee relationships
  • Strong commercial contracting experience, balancing legal risk against business needs
  • The confidence to work independently and interface with executives and cross-functional teams
  • A collaborative and practical approach, working at pace in a large, evolving business
