Role Description

As a Yard Planner, you will be responsible for managing the throughput of new and used vehicles, high and heavy cargo, and breakbulk cargo through our facility. This role requires strong planning, scheduling, and allocation skills, as well as effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure yard, cargo, and berth allocation, prioritization, and execution are carried out according to relevant processes, policies, and guidelines.
  2. Liaise with key customers, including stevedores, shipping lines, carriers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
  3. Manage systems input, data entry, and systems maintenance/improvements to ensure optimal use of resources.
  4. Track performance through agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and systems, identifying improvement areas and implementing agreed-upon solutions.
  5. Support the overall objectives of MIRRAT, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal results and performance.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, International Trade, Economics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the supply chain, logistics, and planning functions.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding, with the ability to implement and manage contracted KPIs.
  • Critical and lateral thinking, allowing for the identification of process improvements that add value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
