About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and resilient Laundry Assistant to join our team at Mercy Health. As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of our residents' clothing and linens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens and residents' clothing
  • Inspect items for stains or damage and report issues as necessary
  • Keep track of laundry supplies and notify management when stock is low
  • Ensure all laundry is processed according to health and safety standards
  • Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of laundry processed and any incidents or issues encountered
  • Work closely with care staff to ensure timely delivery of clean clothing and linens
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role preferred
  • Familiarity with infection control practices in a healthcare setting
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to use software for inventory and record-keeping (if applicable)
