TP Human Capital is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Surgeon to support the Townsville Animal Care & Adoption Centre.
This is a coverage position for a permanent staff member on leave, providing an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a real difference in the lives of animals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the vet clinic, ensuring high standards of animal care, disease control, and welfare.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing veterinary duties, including examinations, diagnostics, and surgeries.
- Conducting temperament assessments to determine rehoming suitability.
- Overseeing clinic operations, including recordkeeping, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Mentoring staff in animal care, treatment, and shelter procedures.
Requirements for this role include strong surgical skills, particularly in spay/neuter procedures, as well as knowledge of animal welfare, shelter operations, and behavioural assessment.
A solid recordkeeping, problem-solving, and time management skills are also essential, along with experience managing a veterinary clinic (preferably).
