Senior Home Care Worker

Job Description:

As a Senior Home Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, client-centred care to individuals in their homes with everyday tasks, companionship, medication and social support as well as some office-based responsibilities. This is a varied role and a great opportunity for those looking to progress in their career in aged care.

You will be providing friendly companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes, assist with medications and personal cares, household tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping, transport to appointments and community activities, and encouraging independence and well-being in a home environment.

Additionally, you will participate in the review of client care plans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate, train and mentor Home Care Workers, and be available for on-call support as the need arises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes
  • Assist with medications and personal cares
  • Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping
  • Support clients with transport to appointments and community activities
  • Encourage independence and well-being in a home environment
  • Participate in the review of client care plans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate
  • Train and mentor Home Care Workers

Requirements:

  • Hold Certificate III in Individual Support or higher
  • Hold Assist Clients with Medication – HLTHPS006 qualification
  • Hold Recognise Healthy Body Systems – HLTAAP001 qualification
  • Hold Provide Individualised Support – CHCCCS031 qualification
  • Hold current First Aid and CPR qualification
  • Hold current Police Check
  • Hold current driver's license
  • Hold valid Australian Work Rights
