Disability Support Coordinator

Job Description:
Children, Youth & Family Services at SCSS seek skilled Disability Support Workers transitioning into the youth sector to make a positive impact on young people's lives. This opportunity allows professionals to apply transferable skills in a dynamic setting, providing support and empowerment to young individuals to achieve their full potential.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Deliver empathetic and personalised support to young people with diverse needs and abilities.
2. Develop a secure and supportive environment conducive to growth and development.
3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored support plans and interventions.
4. Empower individuals to acquire essential life skills and promote autonomy.
5. Utilise daily routines to provide practical training for life skills such as meal preparation, personal care, and financial management.
Essential Requirements:
1. Relevant experience in disability support work or a related field.
2. Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to effect positive change.
3. Capacity to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of young people.
4. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
5. Capability to utilise and access a smartphone for clocking in/out and shift documentation.
Prior to commencing this role, team members must possess or be eligible to obtain: Blue Card for Working with Children, NDIS Worker Screening, Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2), hold or be willing to enroll in a Cert 4 or higher recognised qualification and a valid unrestricted driver's license.
