As a Mental Health Specialist, you will be part of our team that provides evidence-based assessment, formulation, and intervention for mental health disorders and other systemic barriers preventing clients from entering employment or beginning study. Your expertise in delivering therapeutic interventions and high level of interpersonal skills will enable you to support customers in addressing non-vocational barriers and developing their skills and job readiness.
This full-time, ongoing role is based at our Coburg Site, offering a 9 day fortnight with a dedicated and fixed day off every second week. You will receive the remuneration of a full-time employee, as well as the ability to salary sacrifice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based best-practice assessment, formulation, and intervention for mental health disorders and other systemic barriers;
- Support customers in addressing non-vocational barriers and developing their skills and job readiness;
- Develop and deliver training relevant to the field, and consultancy with other service providers;
- Maintain effective relationships with staff and other agencies;
- Problem solve complex presenting co-morbidities through one-on-one counselling intervention;
- Work effectively with culturally diverse clients, employers, and staff;
- Employ strategies to resolve conflict effectively;
- Hold a current driver's licence and a minimum Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or Mental Health Counselling.
A competitive salary of $60,000-$80,000 per annum will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As a public benevolent institution, we can offer a portion of the salary through tax-effective salary packaging.
