About the Role

The Ministry for Pacific Peoples is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial information, and upholding financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and update financial systems.
  2. Assist with payroll processing, audit preparations, and annual reporting.
  3. Ensure accurate and timely financial information to support informed decision-making.
  4. Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reports.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  2. Previous experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a government or non-profit organization.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  6. Proactive with the ability to get on with tasks and troubleshoot.
  7. Knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards and regulations or Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is desirable.
