The Role


We are seeking a skilled Transport Allocator to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. As a Transport Allocator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery and receipt of cargo, in accordance with allocated timeslots and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities



  • Plan the shift transport function to ensure delivery and receipt of cargo is completed in accordance with allocated timeslots and customer requirements
  • Allocate jobs to drivers throughout the shift to achieve operational requirements, ensuring equality between all drivers at all times
  • Provide drivers with required delivery paperwork
  • Communicate effectively with all drivers, customers, and seek advice from the Transport Manager/Supervisor to resolve transport problems as they arise
  • Efficient utilization of the Maximas System data entered 'live' and with nil errors
  • Set up requirements for shift bulk runs and transshipments as required
  • Track and record all trailer dropouts to reduce the risk of equipment loss
  • Create and provide accurate client booking and release details as requested
  • Timely response to issues raised by major clients, with courtesy at all times
  • Work within Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations in all areas of the role
  • Demonstrate inclusive behavior and show respect for diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives

About You



  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills
  • Time management skills to ensure you meet the ongoing requirements of the task at hand
  • Sound computer knowledge and able to pick up new computer systems quickly
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable, team player, with a can-do attitude
  • Strong data entry and accuracy
  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organization skills
  • Focused and compliant with all safe work practices
  • Industry-based qualification – preferred
  • Experience within or genuine interest in supply chain operations
  • Understanding Port Operations &/or wharf cartage – preferred but not essential
