Podiatrist - Innovation in Patient Care

High-quality podiatry services are provided to patients across multiple sites in acute, sub-acute and residential care settings. Clinical roles may vary between the inter-disciplinary High Risk Foot Service, acute inpatients, outpatient clinics or rehab services at a major hospital.
Key Responsibilities:- Optimal podiatry management is delivered through effective assessment, treatment, evaluation, team liaison and discharge planning.
- Comprehensive allied health therapy is provided to clients and carers in their own homes, aligning with expressed goals of care and healthcare needs, considering the effects of health issues on life and wellbeing.
- Sound clinical knowledge of evidence-based practice, research and new developments is demonstrated.
- Active participation in applicable inter-disciplinary and specialist teams is expected.
- Closely liaise with community service providers and attend relevant meetings to coordinate client care.
- Maintain appropriate standards of medical record documentation and data collection as per local policies.
- Supervise Grade 1 Podiatrists in line with professional standards.
- Primary student supervisor for undergraduate podiatry students undertaking placement at the hospital.
- Coordinate and facilitate relevant training/education sessions for hospital employees as requested.
- Participate in quality improvement activities in accordance with the department's Quality Plan and other tasks as directed by senior staff.
- Develop, implement and promote innovative clinical practice.
- Actively participate in departmental, organisational and external meetings as required.
