We are currently seeking a motivated and ambitious procurement expert ready to embrace a new challenge in their career. This role as a Senior Project Buyer will involve supporting Signaling and Infrastructure projects across the ANZ region. The position is based in our Perth CBD office and offers flexible working arrangements, allowing you to integrate into a skilled and passionate team along with our leadership group.
This is a fixed-term position for a duration of two years, aimed at enhancing the Procurement team’s efforts in one of Alstom's major signaling initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the project team to facilitate procurement activities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead negotiations and engage stakeholders to disseminate pertinent information and updates to team members.
- Prepare and initiate Requests for Quotation with suppliers.
- Conduct project negotiations in accordance with Australian and UK Standards.
- Oversee the evolution of Procurement project QCDT and legal aspects (FAI, Business Award, Product development).
- Consolidate commodity requirements and inputs.
- Actively participate in the development of commodity strategies and panels.
- Foster relationships with global supplier panels.
- Manage specific supplier panel relationships, including negotiations, agreements, and local supplier QCDT performance.
- Engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including our customers.
- Define Procurement strategies and assist in make-or-buy decisions.
Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar sourcing/procurement role.
- Operational understanding and knowledge of rail components or designs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Background in the Railway industry and/or Turnkey Projects from a comparable industrial sector.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance projects.
