As a medical professional looking for a new adventure, we invite you to explore the unique opportunities available as a District Medical Officer in our Midwest Region.

This is a recruitment pool to fill Permanent or Fixed Term appointments. You will provide comprehensive medical and community health services to remote communities, collaborating with our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

With access to resident specialists in person or via telehealth, you'll have the support you need to deliver exceptional patient care. The WACHS Command Centre offers rapid care coordination and team leadership Emergency Medicine and Mental Health patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, training, and education to junior staff members.
  • Develop and maintain the skills necessary to provide safe, effective, appropriate, and quality clinical service.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll work closely with Remote Area Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Allied Health staff, Aboriginal Health Workers, and Aboriginal Liaison Officers. The Midwest/Gascoyne region is located in the northwest of Western Australia, consisting of local government areas such as Carnarvon, Exmouth, Shark Bay, and Upper Gascoyne.
