About the Position

  • We are seeking a qualified Academic Program Director to lead our Enabling Programs team at La Trobe University.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in teaching, curriculum development, and subject coordination in online modes. As the Academic Program Director, you will be responsible for leading the Enabling Programs team, managing two Associate Lecturers, and casual academic staff. Your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Enabling Programs team to deliver high-quality educational programs and services;
  • Managing and developing academic staff to achieve excellent student outcomes;
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of new programs and courses;
  • Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the University and industry partners;
  • Ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures;

Requirements:

  • A PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognized by the University/profession as appropriate;
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development, and subject coordination in online modes;
  • Experience working within University policy and procedural environments;
  • Emerging or established engagement with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, particularly in areas such as supporting academic skill development and effective online pedagogies;
  • Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with diverse groups;
  • Proven experience in managing academic staff performance and development;
