Job Title: Category Management Specialist

This is a significant opportunity to work on category management initiatives, partnering with stakeholders to plan and develop procurement arrangements that meet organisational objectives.

  • The role involves leading the development and implementation of category management plans, sourcing strategies and contract negotiations to achieve value for money while meeting stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the analysis of business needs, commercial risks and supply markets to inform procurement decisions, guiding sourcing activities across various categories and establishing effective supply arrangements.
  • Provide governance, advice and guidance to internal stakeholders to build expertise in procurement and category management across the organisation.
  • Develop and administer contract management plans, negotiate changes and modifications, supplier performance management and compliance requirements by fostering strong relationships with suppliers to enhance category outcomes.
  • Plan and lead contract negotiations in the establishment and review of supply arrangements to deliver value for money procurement outcomes in specific categories.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities.
  • Document procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements to provide an audit trail for probity and audit purposes.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong relationship management and risk mitigation skills to optimise procurement outcomes and maximise business opportunities.
  • Ability to maintain thorough documentation of procurement processes and contractual arrangements which is critical to ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to audit and compliance standards.
