St James' Primary School is a Catholic systemic school in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The school uses a collaborative and personalised approach where teachers and students work together to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

As Canteen Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the school canteen, including opening and closing the canteen and preparing and selling menu items as per the canteen menu.

You will also be responsible for following relevant food handling and money handling policies, maintaining a cooperative working environment and providing a friendly, customer-focused service to students and staff within the school community.

The Canteen Manager will support the development of strong relationships within the school community, particularly with students, parents and volunteers, teachers and other school personnel.

The role requires experience in food preparation and service settings, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to supervise a small team and show appropriate initiative.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic financial management systems, an understanding of work health and safety legislation, and experience in food safety and handling.
