Job Title: Traffic Controller

Miepol Pty Ltd, a leading service provider to the Civil/Construction Industry, requires experienced Traffic Controllers for immediate start.

Casual opportunities available for scheduled works, on-call and event/project work across Melbourne Metropolitan area.

We are looking for reliable and skilled Traffic Controllers with a commitment to safety and teamwork to perform tasks associated with traffic management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks associated with traffic management for works or events
  • Use of Stop/Slow Bat to control traffic
  • Implement and monitor operational Traffic Management Plans
  • Complete vehicle pre-start checks
  • Load and unload vehicles with signage and equipment
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Complete site hazard assessments and implement control measures to suit the site
  • Report on site hazards and near misses
  • Monitor traffic behaviour and flow to ensure safety is maintained at all times
  • Follow instructions from team leaders
  • Drive and tow an arrow board or VMB (Visual Message Board)
  • Will be required to drive and operate TMA/IPV (truck mounted attenuators/impact protection vehicle)
  • Control traffic, pedestrians and cyclists to protect maintenance workers, work crews and members of the public

Requirements & Skills:

  • Traffic Control Tickets (BWTM & TC)
  • OH&S White card
  • Manual Driver's Licence and own reliable transport to attend work
  • Availability to work days, nights and weekends
  • A minimum of 6 months Traffic Control experience
  • Freeway/Asphalt/Emergency Works experience advantageous
  • People who can work individually and in teams
  • Safety focused people with excellent communication skills
