Excavation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Excavation Specialist to operate drill rigs and ensure operational excellence in the Australian mineral exploration and mining industry.

About the Role:

  • Operate drill rig to OEM standards within a highly regulated operational safety system.
  • Ensure all personnel comply with current HSE Regulations and site-specific rules or regulations.
  • Carry out comprehensive inspections on all equipment onsite, including rigs, trucks, caravans, camps and generators.
  • Develop and implement safe work practices and rig operations training programs for Offsiders and Trainee Drillers.
  • Liaise with clients to successfully execute the drilling program and ensure operational excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Safely operating drill rigs to achieve high productivity and quality results.
  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Coaching and mentoring Offsiders and Trainee Drillers to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Contributing to the development of effective risk management strategies to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
