About the Role

The Employment Opportunities Specialist is responsible for supporting customers with a prior offender history in finding employment.

This role focuses on improving customers' capacity to work by addressing non-vocational issues and building vocational skills and experience.

Promoting customers through advocacy to employers will be paramount in assisting them to find suitable employment opportunities.

We have five full-time positions available across our Armadale, Cockburn, Cannington, Fremantle, and Mandurah sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake meaningful work by supporting an allocated caseload of customers
  • Address non-vocational issues and build vocational skills and experience
  • Promote customers through advocacy to employers
  • Rund group-based sessions to motivate and improve confidence amongst your caseload
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • An understanding of vocational and other barriers that impact people from gaining employment
  • A passion and drive for helping people find employment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of customers, employers and staff
  • The ability to assess, match and refer customers to appropriate job opportunities and to advocate directly to employers
  • Strong administration skills and IT literacy, data entry and typing skills, Word, Excel and Outlook experience
