About the Opportunity:

The EnerMech team is seeking a skilled High Voltage Maintenance Specialist to join our maintenance team in Sydney. This role offers a unique chance to work on high voltage electrical systems within the Metro Trains network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Australian electrical safety standards and Metro Trains regulations through adherence to safe work practices and PPE requirements.
  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on high voltage systems, including transformers, switchgear, cables, and associated equipment.
  • Detect and troubleshoot faults in high voltage equipment and systems to minimize service disruptions.
  • Conduct inspections and testing to identify potential issues before system failures occur.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs for high voltage system failures or faults, providing swift solutions to restore service.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve complex electrical issues.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Australian Electrical trade qualification (NSW).
  • Certification or licensing in high voltage systems.
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • A valid White card and CPR/LVR certification are required.
  • A drivers' license is also necessary.
  • Prior experience working with metro rail systems or similar transport infrastructure is desirable.
  • A background in high voltage systems, preferably in a rail or transport environment, is highly desirable.

Benefits and Compensation:

This position comes with a competitive estimated salary of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. The roster is 4 days/nights with 4 days off between shifts.
