Geotechnical Open Pit Engineer Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing geotechnical services to ensure safety standards related to ground control.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Geotechnics, Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering and extensive experience in Geotechnical Engineering, particularly in open-cut mining.

  • Familiarity with Rocscience Software suite is required.
  • Knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations is also necessary.

About the Position:

  • This position involves collecting and analyzing geotechnical data, investigating rock fall events and addressing ground control issues.
  • Daily tasks include mine plans, drill & blast plans, survey instructions, inspections, data collection, monitoring, analysis and QA/QC.
  • The successful candidate will be committed to upholding our values, safety culture and performance standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnics, Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in Geotechnical Engineering, particularly in open-cut mining.
  • Familiarity with Rocscience Software suite.
  • Knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
