Join our team at the University of Southern Queensland as a Research Fellow in the Centre for Future Materials. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to contribute to our research project on developing advanced fire-retardant coatings.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research in Chemical Synthesis, Materials Science and Engineering, Polymer Science, and Nanotechnologies.
- Design, synthesize, characterize, and model materials, and communicate results to the Australian Research Council.
- Provide expertise in fire-retardant coatings for modern high-rise buildings.
- Contribute to research proposals for external funding providers.
- Publish research findings in high-quality journal publications.
- Establish and build collaborative research partnerships.
- Hold an Honours degree or higher qualification in Materials Science and Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering, or equivalent.
- Have a high level of research expertise in fire retardants, fire-retardant coatings/polymers, and excellent practical laboratory skills.
- Have an established track record of attracting ongoing research funding.
- Have strong scientific communication skills, demonstrated by a strong publication record and engagement in national and international conferences.
- Be able to engage effectively with the composite community and other key external stakeholders.
